Madhav-Mufti meet ahead of PM’s ‘big’ rally

Madhav-Mufti meet ahead of PM’s ‘big’ rallyBJP national general secretary Ram Madhav is scheduled to hold a meeting with Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed here tomorrow ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Jammu and Kashmir visit.

The focus of the meeting will be to ensure the success of Modi’s rally in Srinagar city on November 7. It will be the Prime Minister’s first rally in the Valley after the PDP and the BJP formed the coalition government in the state.

“The main agenda of Ram Madhav’s meeting with the Chief Minister tomorrow is to ensure the success of the rally of Narendra Modi as this is the first major joint rally of the coalition that will be addressed by the Prime Minister in Kashmir,” said BJP spokesman Khalid Jehangir.

Modi’s last Kashmir rally held at the city’s Sher-e-Kashmir stadium in December last ahead of Assembly elections had failed to attract large crowds. However, this time PDP workers and supporters will be a part of the crowd as senior leaders of the BJP’s coalition partner are also expected to attend the November 7 rally.

Modi is likely to announce a major development package for the state as Mufti yesterday stated that the Prime Minister’s upcoming visit would be “path-breaking” and provide the “much-needed impetus” to the development agenda of the coalition government.
